Saturday, May 12th, 2012, the Bonita High School Jazz Ensemble will be traveling to the RCC Jazz Festival at Riverside City College. The following information outlines our plans for the day.

Itinerary:

  • 10:00 AM – Load buses and truck with instruments & equipment.
  • 10:15 PM – Leave for RCC
  • 11:15 PM – Arrive at RCC and unload (Bus is not staying)
  • 11:30 AM – Watch Ramona Jazz Band Perform
  • 4:00 PM – Warm-up
  • 4:30 PM – Performance time
  • 5:30 PM – Observe Performance/Awards
  • 6:30 PM – Load bus and return to Bonita (On Ramona Bus)
  • 7:30 PM – Return to Bonita

Jazz Ensemble members must arrive in concert dress to gain admittance to the bus.

Students must bring all performance materials with them or they will not perform. Parents will not be sent back to the school to bring equipment for which students should be responsible. If you have any questions, feel free to call Mr. Bird.

  • Warm up at 5:30
  • Perform 6-6:45 pm
  • Pack up at 6:45
  • Reuturn to Bonita with equipment no later than 7:15

May 6th:

  • Load at Bonita at 10:45 am
  • Call time and Setup at LV Church of the Brethren at 11:00am
  • Warm up at 11:30am
  • Perform 12-12:45 pm
  • Load up whatever the combo isn’t using and return to Bonita at 1:00 pm
  • Jazz Combo performs 1:00-1:20 pm
  • Pack up at 1:20 and return to Bonita by 1:40pm

Itinerary:

  • 7:00 AM – Load truck with instruments & equipment
  • 7:45 AM – Load buses
  • 8:00 AM – Leave for King High School
  • 9:00 AM – Arrive at King High School. Unload & warm-up.
  • 10:00 AM – To the starting line!
  • 10:10 AM – Performance time!
  • 10:25 AM – Load trailer
  • 11:15 AM – Depart for Bonita
  • 12:00 PM – Return to Bonita

Students must bring all performance materials with them or they will not perform. Parents will not be sent back to the school to bring equipment for which students should be responsible. Students should bring money for lunch and dinner. The band boosters will provide water and snacks. Parents: we require your assistance at every competition in order to get the group on and off the floor. Please come help and cheer on the group. Directions to the event are posted below.
