Founded in 1964 and incorporated in 2002, it is the goal of the La Verne Band Boosters Association, a California non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, to promote, support and assist the Instrumental Music Program of Bonita High School and any musical educational institution within the City of La Verne when so asked. Under the direction and guidance of the Band Director, the Boosters are directly involved in support tasks such as fund raising, prop building, grooming, transportation, organizing, feeding, and otherwise tending to the well being of the students and director. While our quest is to support the program, we also ensure that all participants have equal access to the program and the educational opportunities that it offers.

Most of our “boosting” is with financial and parental support, and the Boosters work hard to provide in excess of $50,000 for our total financial needs. Our funds are raised mostly by the collection of our annual fees (Instrumental Program Payment) and fundraising, but much more is needed. Born on athletic fields across the nation, steeped in the tradition of military and outdoor pageantry, bands, and color guards have a long history in America. Often rehearsing nine hours a day through heat, cold, dust and rain, they create thrilling performances where athleticism, musical talent, kaleidoscopic movement, and showmanship merge into an art form that is both competitive and entertaining.

Rising from the foothills of La Verne, The Marching Bearcats, consistently sets ever-higher standards of excellence. From its inception, The Marching Bearcats achieved success in such a short time with 2009 being no exception.

With a program deep with tradition in all areas of performance including Marching Band, Drumline, Color Guard, Jazz Band and Symphonic Band. The Bonita High School Instrumental Music Program would like to invite you to experience and share in the excitement and joy of our program.
